2001-09-29. This started off as a scale model, to practice thatching a dome shape with entrance. Willow was around during construction, but Nina slept in nights over the winter.

Not done yet, is it?

Ok, but it needs a roof.

Not bad for observation though.

Nina slept here many nights this winter. A 3″ thick mat of hay was placed on the floor inside for sleeping. This picture was taken 2002-01-29, note the grass has dried. A piece of birchbark was placed on top to hold in heat and keep the top dry.
